Builders, be aware of the minimum fastener requirements for use with ACQ-treated and other pressure-treated lumber. Take note of the type of nails being driven into pressure-treated wood in the homes you are building.

The manufacturers of ACQ treated wood have a minimum requirement of hot-dip galvanized nails be used with their lumber, but to maximize fastener longevity, a stainless steel nail is preferable. This requirement applies to all fasteners less than ½" diameter. The ACQ wood is used in various applications such as mud sill plate installation, exterior decks, and cedar fences.

We have hot‑dip galvanized and stainless steel nails stocked for this application.
